Stained Glass Church Windows
The history of art in western civilization begins with religious art. In the early
church, depicitions of biblical scenes and characters were thought to be exempt from
the prohibition against "graven images" in the book of Exodus and almost all art of
this period was religious art. So naturally, Stained Glass got its start in the
churches and cathedrals of Europe.
Many of the Stained Glass windows in early European churches were decorative,
geometric patterns, designed to inspire a sense of awe and peace with the interplay
of light, color and form. Others illustrated biblical scenes to a largely illiterate
congregation. It was the use of Silver Stain on these windows that gave them the
name Stained Glass. The term has since been broadened to include almost any colored
glass and the windows made from it.

committees to insure everything is exactly the way they want it. These are a few of
the windows we have designed and built;
